Actually teaching

I am going to be teaching a class for homeschoolers this fall at our church. We are going to be using Around the World in 180 Days as the basis for the class. I'm excited about the class, because history and geography are my thing, but I'm nervous, too, because this is a very UN-unschoolish thing to do.

I'm planning for it to be fun and interactive. It looks like we could end up with a pretty big class, so I think I'd better start getting organized!

I'm teaching a class this year, too! In my case it's high school literature (9th grade). So far I have four students--my son and three other homeschoolers. I, too, need to start getting organized! I think it will be a lot of fun and will keep me and my son more on track and organized than we would otherwise be. And it will be nice to have a group for discussion.

Hi
This probably isn't the right place to post this but I am wondering how to get in touch with some Indiana homeschool parents.

We live in CO right now but we are moving to Indiana at the end of September and I homeschool my 2nd grade son so I'd like to meet other parents. Also the laws in Indiana seem a little different then in CO and the public school officials in Indiana seem a tad more resentful towards homeschooling parents.

I would love some information, any information to help the transition go smoothly.

Thanks
Terrie P

Terrie--

There is a wonderful email list that you can join at www.indianahomeschoolers.com

There are over 1300 people on the list and there are lots of people who will be happy to help you with info and advice.

BTW, We have homeschooled for 11 years, seven of those in Indiana, and we have had no problems with any school officials, nor has anyone that I know.

Hi Jane!
Is it too late to sign up my 7.5 yo. daughter for the class? What is the appropriate place to do that?
Looking forward to it!
Beth
